VISION
Does
it matter whether or not you wear glasses, contacts
or have laser surgery? It depends on whether you
want clear or blurry and distorted eyesight. It
would seem obvious that everyone values physical
eyesight, vision, the ability to see everything
20/20.
However,
I believe that when God says in Proverbs 29, “Where
there is no vision the people perish” he
is referring to inner vision. We can use a telescope
and see for miles or use a microscope and see
bacteria invisible to the naked eye. But the men
and women that can see a church operating with
God’s power will be those who have learned
to look beyond what’s seen and gravitate
toward that which is yet to take shape. Look at
any building. It was in somebody’s mind
before it was physically built. I have a vision
for the
Church of Christ in Raleigh.
¨
I see model Christians (not perfect) serving every
segment of this vast community.
¨
I see ministries to every age. Mentors, coaches,
elders, deacons, evangelists and counselors all
working to glorify God through his marvelous Son,
Christ Jesus.
¨
I see day care, evening care, schools, elderly
care, economic development all a part of each
congregation of the Church of Christ planted by
the now named South Central church of Christ Church.
I
have no vision for less than the best that God
has to offer. I know that when his people allow
themselves to believe God, the community becomes
captivated by their obvious blessings as in Acts
3:47. We will develop the mind of Christ and seek
to save everyone who is lost!
My
vision is clear, my heart and mind are focused
on honoring God the Father and his Son, Jesus
Christ.
If
you need clarity of vision, stay with South Central
and you will never regret the opportunities to
serve and the blessings that you will receive.
